v1b - 1st release as Life of Vista, and also the first release of the Ultimate line in the Skins Database. Combines both Vista Ultimate 6001 and Vista Beta 5112.
Differences from Ultimate 6001 v1 and Beta 5112 v0 are:
- includes the Longhorn logo
VU6 v1 - There are minor changes throughout the skin, as this is essentially a new skin when compared to Vista Ultimate Messenger 6.0. Rejected from the Skins Database due to over-commonality with another skin.
- Renamed to Vista Ultimate 6001. Version numbering system changed.
- Compatibility with WLM 8.5; compatibility removed for WLM 9.0 BETA.
- Transparency is improved.
- New Vista orb favicon - the colour of it is selectable.
- Now comes with a settings icon on the contact list window.
- Toasts come with an Alert favicon, rather than the Windows Live orb.
- Fixed tabbed chatting colour problem and the ugly conversation window shadow.
- New background image for windows.
VB5 v0 - First official release.
VUM 6.0 - First official release. Not available at the Skins Database.
Vista Ultimate Messenger 6 Quick Fix
When you are seeing black text on a black background in the tabbed conversations, insert the following code after <Information>, but before <MessengerSkin> in SkinInfo.xml in the folder of this skin:
